red sox brawl video. The incident is referred to as the Coco Crisp Fight. It was a wild Thursday night at Fenway Park. It was a bench clearing brawl in the just the second inning. It all started when 5 players were hit by the ball by pitching and amidst all the fighting and injuries Boston extended their winning streak to 13. What started the fight was a pitch by Rays starter James Shields. The pitch hit Coco Crisp in the right leg and in the second inning. What followed was a violent fight with Coco Crisp. Shields, Crisp and Rays as well as designated hitter Johnny Gomes were ejected as a result of the fight. It was a game full of action, and according to the Boston Globe everyone was involved in the fight even the Red Sox relievers. They had to run to the fight some 300 feet away from their dugout. It is sad to see athletes fight over a game. It is not only Coco Crisp who is at fault. I don’t understand whay these athletes get so upset. Really….what do they have to be angry about? A pitch? A couple of balls? If I was making so much money for playing with balls and sticks I would be the happiest man alive. I guess the athletes have put in a lot of work throughout their careers, but still. I believe that there should be some rule enforcement in this situation and players from both teams should be penalized. It should not only be one or two players penalized for the Coco Crisp fight.
