David Motari, Puppy Killing Video
The whole situation is disgusting. Ok, lets take things step by step here. A relatively un-talented in thought processing capabilities David Motari threw a puppy off a cliff. Then the video made it online. Then the family of the US marine David Motari is living a nightmare because of the video. People are threatening his family with death and violence because of the gruesome act of David Motari. What did the family of David Motari do wrong? Is the United Sates filled with totally brainless people? Where is this country going? I am not trying to justify David Motari puppy killing but it is not something you should hold his whole family responsible for. The issue here is that some brainless battle fatigued or just plain and simple dumb soldier threw a puppy over a cliff. It is not his family’s fault. Furthermore, why are people so concerned about the puppy incident? I remember watching a video of dismembered Afghani insurgents and injured American soldiers with their arms hanging off from a tendon wile screaming in agony sitting in cesspools of blood after a battle and I don’t remember that stirring so much controversy. I remember watching a video from an Iraqi hospital during the invasion filled with children dying slowly from puss filled infected wounds and missing limbs while passing out from crying and I don’t remember that stirring up so much controversy. What is it with the puppy? Why did it hit such a sensitive spot in American society? Do you really think that the worst thing that happened in this war was a puppy being thrown off a cliff? Think about it, if a soldier like David Motari is thoughtless enough to do something like that, especially on camera for the world to see, imagine what else David Motari and every David Motari in the US army is willing to do off camera. Think about it, I am really not trying to defend David Motari here I am just giving you something to think about.
I agree that David Motari was wrong for throwing that puppy off the cliff, but you’re right, what does his family have to do with it? I’m sure PETA will be all over this story.
Oh great. Now that the Marines have kicked this turd to the curb - he’ll be back in my neighborhood (Monroe) living with his mamma for the rest of his pathetic life. Oh wait - on second thought he’ll probably pick up the other popular local vocation - making and selling meth.
Motari’s family is not responsible for his actions, and should be left alone. While outrage over Motari’s sadistic action is justified, where is the outrage of US enforced sanctions, killing as many as 5,000 Iraqi children every month, or the tens if not hundreds of Iraqi and Afghan deaths, classified as “colatera damage” (pentagonese for being in the wrong place at the wrong time). It’s time to get the hell out of Iraq and Afghanistan. How? Plane, ship, motorcycle, car, truck, or skateboard.
No matter what goes on in the world, a puppy is innocent, that simple, and not able to defend himself. A soldier, in battle gear feels compelled to take the life of an innocent animal, no matter what kind is pathetic. If he was aiding in shortening this puppy’s torment, God help the homeless here…or anyone innocent….should he think he might help them out.
Rhonda is not right.
Just google “dog mauls baby” and you’ll see that even puppies can attack children.
On a more serious note you have no clue how dogs are treated in Afghanistan. I personally don’t think I could bring myself to put a puppy to death but I do know that puppy would either have died or lived a life of abuse.
Also, Bigmo68 is not right. What Iraqi sanctions are you talking about? The most recent sanctions ended on May 22, 2003 (with the exception of certain arms related portions). If you’re referring to those, there was a clause that allowed Iraq to sell oil for food and other needs. (I admit we probably should have included clorine for disinfecting even though it has military value). Really Iraq for years violated the sanctions but do you think they ever used what they got to help themselves? Nope. It is not our responsibility as a country to babysit other countries that can’t figure out how to take care of themselves.
A soldier who kills other ’soldiers’ is a soldier. A soldier who kills innocents, human or otherwise, is a maggot. Too bad he didn’t fall off of that cliff afterward, the world could use a few less maggots.
