Luke,

What a wonderful young man you are. The real proof that honors your father’s transparency, generosity and commitment.
May you stay and remain as an role model of future generations just like you father is/was.

I learnt to believe in politics thanks to your Dad.

Dios les bendiga, siempre.

Berta.

I attended Mass on Saturday evening so I could be available to watch Meet the Press on Sunday. Like Tim, I grew up during the time when the Catholic church and school were our life. His faith spurred me on to keep my faith at the center of my life. I felt like I had lost a brother when he died. My good old catholic training is still a vital part of my life. Dietrich Bonhoeffer, German theologian so beautifully said,”Nothing can make up for the absence of someone whom we love, and it would be wrong to try to find a substitute. The gap, as long as it remains unfilled preserves the bonds between us. It is nonsense to say that God fills the gap. God doesn’t fill it, but on the contrary, keeps it empty and so helps us to keep alive our former communion with each other, even at the cost of pain.”I also find solace in the Prayer of a Planetary Pilgrim. “I give you what no thief can steal. The memories of our times together, the tender love filled moments, the successes we have shared, the hard times that brought us closer together, and the road we have walked side by side. And all I take with me as I leave is your love and the millions of memories, all that we have shared. So I truly enter new life as a millionaire. Fear not. Do not grieve at my departure, you whom jI have loved so much, for my roots and your are forever intertwined. God bless and keep all of us in His love.

Dear Luke,
I am amazed by your inner strength. I do not know how I would handle the death of one of my parents, and my father is almost 90. The longer you have them, the harder it will be. I have strong faith in God, and I believe that he will give me that same strength when it is time to eulogize my parents. How wonderful to be loved by so many people as your father was! Learning about his life has inspired me to be as gentle and caring as he was to all he came in contact with. May God bless you and your family.
