Starkeisha Brown is probably the worst mother ever. I vote animal. Starkeisha Brown has definitely things wrong with her. A sane person does not torture a kid. Starkeisha Brown is definitely someone who shames humanity.
Today’s (June 20) LA Times reports that the mother’s family and neighbors KNEW of the torture of the child, but didn’t tell anyone. Not the police. Not DHS. It makes me worry not just about these two monsters, but about the society they live in.
I clicked on Starkeisha Brown’s MySpace page, then clicked on one of her “friends” page. Ironically, there’s an advertisement showing a little girl, covering her eyes, and next to her it says “Come join my cause. Society against child abuse! You will be able to recruit friends, raise money, and add a profile badge to show your support.” YUK, I wonder if she knows her friend is receiving her 15 minutes of fame, for none other than CHILD ABUSE. People all over the United States know about this case NOW, too late for the child.
The above story isn’t told correctly. Starkeisha Brown knew she had to go to Children’s Services, and that she couldn’t let them see how abused her son was, so she left her son with a homeless person, while she borrowed her babysitter’s little boy and tried to pass him off as hers. Even the homeless person was smarter than neighbors, he or she told many people “this child is sick”, eventually someone called the police and the police started searching for Starkeisha Brown, Krystal Matthews and LaTanya Jones. Even a homeless person was smarter about getting help for this child than Children’s Services was, or his Grandmother, or Great-Grandmother, or any relatives (of which many are pictured on her MySpace page).
The latest news today say’s Starkeisha Brown may have another child. DUH!! Her My Space pages shows his name as Twin Macai.
I don’t understand how people like Starkeisha Brown do what they do….Some things that go on in the world today are just horrible.
I am not sure why she did what she did, but I am sure that is was not becaue she was lesbian. Why was that emphasized in this article. Also the child is not an “it”. Why was reference to him expressed as “it”. Finally the family did not know, they missed signs but they did not KNOW of the abuse.
I’m really curious as to why that sweet baby boy is referred to as an “it” in this post. It, and the story as a whole (of course), is very disturbing…
I don’t think the 5 year old was referred to as “it” to be malicious, that is just how some people talk and write. Our former governor called his wife’s upcoming baby “the impending child.” He’s a first time father so wasn’t experienced in saying baby or girl or boy. Good news, Starkeisha Brown (the child’s Mom) already had NO BAIL allowed because she was on parole when she was arrested 6/14, this mornings court appearance at 8:30 also made Krystal Matthews bail as NO BAIL (she did most of the abuse). The babysitter, LaTanya Jones, has a bail of $180,000 (she is the one that burned the child’s hand or hands on a stove burner. These three are on the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department website. Be sure to scroll all the way down or you’ll miss some of it. Please think about what you can do to help children - volunteer to read to them, teach them how to read, help with homework at the local libraries, become a children’s advocate-they work with the Prosecutor to give the child a voice in court, donate to clothes drives for foster children (Sleep Country has these often.) Donate school supplies to days cares and schools. Or sponsor a child for back to school clothes. Thank you. We can all do something.
I’m sorry, why did the grandmother and great grandmother ignore these signs of abuse? A broken tooth with the nerve exposed! This child was in some serious constant pain. If they were caring for him I’m sure they saw the signs. C’mon now, cigarette burns and so forth are not normal childhood accidents. They should be brought up on charges of neglect as well.
Thanks for correction. I really cant believe that some people got stuck at the “it”. Tiffany, if by reading this story the only disturbing thing you find is me referring to the child as “it” then you have issues. @ Tammy, the article does not emphasize the Lesbian relationship of the Mother. It just mentions “it”
I’m a bit speachless here. It’s beyond horrifying but not surprising these days. I hope that child recovers and I hope to god he gets a good home. Bravo to that homeless one.
Reminds me of the lions in Ethiopa who chased away the men that were raping a 12-year-old.
